Privacy Policy
The short version: your data stays on your phone. ClassPort has no account, no ads, and no tracking.
What ClassPort stores
Your schedule, assignments, grades, attendance marks, and the optional profile details you type (name, school, year). All of it lives on your device. ClassPort's widgets read the same on-device data. ClassPort also keeps three private dates — the first time you launched it, first added real classwork, and first used grades — in your phone's secure Keychain, so it can recognize you as an early user someday. Those stay on your phone too — and if that ever changes, ClassPort will ask you first.
What ClassPort never collects
No analytics, no advertising identifiers, no location, no contact list. Nothing you enter is sent to us or to anyone else — with two exceptions you control, described next: the Wallet card, and AI Questions. Each shares exactly what its section says and nothing more, and each is off unless you actively use it.
Permissions you choose
Notifications: reminders are scheduled entirely by your phone. Calendars: if you allow it, ClassPort writes your schedule into one calendar it creates, and touches nothing else. Both are optional, and you can change either anytime in your phone's Settings.
The Wallet card (optional)
Adding the ClassPort card to Apple Wallet sends your class names, times, and rooms — never grades, assignments, or attendance — to ClassPort's card service so the card can be built and signed. With auto-updates off, nothing is kept after that moment. If you turn auto-updates on, those same details are stored under an anonymous card ID so the card can refresh while the app is closed. Turning the switch off stops those updates — the stored copy stays until you remove the card from Wallet, which is what deletes it. If you never add the card, no schedule data leaves your phone.
AI Questions (optional)
If you use AI Questions, the photo or PDF you choose to upload — along with the class's name, your chosen difficulty level, and any focus instructions you type — is sent to ClassPort's server and on to Claude, an AI service operated by Anthropic, so it can read the material and write quiz or test questions from it. An anonymous device ID authenticates that request to ClassPort's server; it is not shared with Anthropic. Nothing else about you or ClassPort goes with it — not your grades, assignments, or attendance. Anthropic processes that material to generate your questions and, per their own commercial terms as of this policy's date, does not use API content to train their models and retains it only briefly for safety purposes. ClassPort's own server doesn't keep a copy of your material — only a technical log entry that a request happened. The questions generated, and how you did on them, are stored only on your device, the same as everything else in ClassPort. Using this feature also creates an anonymous usage record on ClassPort's server — a credit balance and, if you subscribe, your subscription status — tied to that device ID and used to meter free usage and verify Apple purchases (see "Deleting your data" below for what that means if you delete the app). If you never use AI Questions, no material or usage record is ever created. You'll see a one-time explanation like this in the app itself before your first upload.
Backups and syncing
Because ClassPort's data lives on your device, it's included in your normal device backups (like iCloud Backup) if you have those turned on. If you export your schedule, those calendar events live in your own calendar account and follow its syncing.
Deleting your data
You can delete anything inside the app at any time. Deleting the app deletes your schedule, assignments, grades, attendance, and profile — everything that lives on your device. It does NOT delete two things that can exist on ClassPort's server, tied only to an anonymous device ID, never your name: a Wallet card copy, if you turned auto-updates on and didn't remove the card from Wallet first (see that section above); and an AI Questions usage/credit record, if you ever used that feature. The three first-use dates mentioned above stay in your phone's secure Keychain (that's what lets ClassPort recognize a returning early user) — still on your phone, still never sent anywhere.
Children
ClassPort is for students aged 13 and up and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used ClassPort or provided information through it, contact sayedulapps@gmail.com and it will be removed.
Changes and contact
